LICENSING
PBP will license its one-person musicals through a major licensing group or stock-amateur company as well as on its own. Additionally, it will distribute and promote its books and CDs through a major book publishing and recording company as well as on its own. A licensing fee and royalty will be charged per week for each musical plus the requirement that each licensee sell a minimum number of PBP books with CDs.
The producing organization will receive the major share of profits from their productions as well as a percentage of the monies received from the sale of the books with CDs.
Each PBP musical comes with with pre-recorded Broadway quality orchestra and projected moving pictures, all on one DVD and one CD. This provides a very economical way of presenting:
1. One person shows, which is PBP's main musical focus.
2. Staged readings
3. A full musical
For the above, one person or a full cast can read from the picture book and sing with the pre-recorded orchestra, with projected moving images on the screen behind or beside them. By doing this, there is virtually no rehearsal time other than one or two days as the one person or cast can learn the melodies from the CDs as well as familiarize themselves with their dialogue from the book.
Additionally, there is little cost other than the space, cast, director and a lighting and sound person.
